I’m struggling on how to begin this post.
Especially after my last post. But not in the fear and dread kind of way.
No.
I'm stuck in wonder.
And overwhelmed with how to begin after sitting on the news all weekend.
With arms outstretched.
So...
I’ll just let the pictures speak.
Do you see that he's not holding on to anything?
It’s almost as if Elias read my Friday words and said, “I’ll show you mommy.”
And walked. He walked. Elias walked!!!!!
Up to five steps.
Five freakin steps!!!!!
On Friday afternoon. An hour after I wrote a post titled: “I know you may not know what its like to wonder if your son will ever walk.”
And sure he’s only upright for one or two steps before reaching and falling into us but…
My baby boy took and can take unsupported steps.
Unsupported steps!!!!
(Not counting the braces and an old borrowed piece of TheraTogs, which I'll explain later.)
Elias walked.
He can take a few steps all by himself.
Elias!!!!!!
(I’ll tell you the full story tomorrow. After a good night’s sleep. Did I say five?)

YAY!!!!!! Oh, Christy, that is wonderful!! Give Elias a big hug from us!
When I first saw the title, I thought it was about age for a brief second ("no, that's not right, we KNOW how old he is!"), then it hit me, "I bet that's the number of steps he took!" I'm SO happy for you guys!! And you thought he was fairly mobile and getting into things now! =)
I apologize if I sound incoherent, it's part excitement, part exhaustion.
Hope you guys had a great weekend (in addition to FIVE!!!)!

It's amazing this happened so close to your previous post! A coincidence or not ;-). There have been so many times that my son seems to have been willed to achieve a goal because I've just been so ready (OK, fit to burst!) for it. This very recently happened with his speaking skills.
We are off to get a second skin (similar to theratogs) next week for my son so I will continue to read with interest of your journey! Thanks for sharing. Reading blogs like yours is what's inspired me to finally start writing my own.

Wow *shaking head in wonder*.
This is fantastic news. I predict that some brain neurons that were maybe sleeping on the job are now firing away, chattering amongst themselves -- "WALKING! Yeah, walking! Let's get this boy WALKING!" Elias just had to wake them up! Yea!!!
