I really didn't want to be admitted today, not ready to give birth, not yet-- I bargained for bed-rest as I lay waiting for my afternoon appointment, concerned by cramps.
So when the doc said, "Your cervix looks good," I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry.
Can you spell RELIEF?
"Just keep doing what you've been doing," she said, when I asked if there was any extra precautions I needed to take now that I'm thirty weeks.
So here I am, home again, upright.
With a 3.3 pound baby girl who, according to the perinatologist, looks great.
how wonderful. I have been checking back here frequently this evening to hear how your appointment went:)

Yay!Yay!Yay!
Posted by: Jessica | 10/05/2009 at 06:26 PM
oh yay! and really, my first thought with the belly pix was "she's got a 30-weeker - not a micropreemie!". You're doing awesome. I think I need to get knitting - I'm not that quick and at this rate I might be late even to a full-term Olive ;)

I am clapping my hands here!!!! Great news ;-).

Welcome to high risk third trimester! For me (being diabetic) it meant twice weekly non stress tests. While trying to teach full time, it wasn't my favorite part. I did like knowing that my growing baby was doing great every few days.

This is so wonderful. yes, the high risk third trimester is worrisome but you know Olive is on the "large" size (in comparison). Your families can stop holding their collective breaths and give a partial sigh of relief. love to all 3 and 3/4 of you

That is FANTASTIC! Was it braxton hicks contractions? I started getting those at about 30 weeks with Santino...

YAAAAAAAY!!!!

I checked your blog FIVE TIMES last night because I was so worried! I keep reminding myself that Elias is doing great and he was born @ 24 weeks so @ 30 weeks, Olive is like a linebacker! Just the same, stay swimming sweet Olive and give your mom, dad, and big brother 10 more weeks on their own. Big hugs coming from Ohio where the leaves are changing and we are finally wearing our synchilla!

Olive has fans cheering her on in Colorado to stay inside until her due date when everyone will be so excited to meet her...especially Elias her BIG brother. Words cannot express how happy I am that you've made it this far and that all remains "uneventful." Such a boring word to express such joy.

I've been lurking for awhile and finally coming out to comment. What fantastic news you received, I am so happy for you and your family that your pregnancy is going so well and you have made it to 30 weeks! I had a 5-day past full term baby so I can't relate to the feeling of needed to be pregnant past those weeks that come so easily to many. May you have many more weeks of uneventful pregnancy ahead of you!

Congratulations on all of you (Olive included!)!
Pregnancy definitely agrees with you, because you are glowing!

I love this update, and hope that everything continues to go well. Stay well, keep baking, sweet Olive :-).
Elias will have a wonderful show and tell someday, with a picture of his brand new sister to share!

I love having so many wonderful folks out there cheering us on. It makes every day more meaningful.
I think my cramps were a combination of my first Braxton Hicks and the stretching of my right uterus and smooshing of my left uterus...maybe?

Tiny baby Olive must seem like a linebacker compared to Elias. Heres hoping she continues to GROW and thrive. So happy for you four!
