December 15th. Here it is. Yep. Less than four hours left in the "official" day and no baby yet.
I see my doctor in the morning and it looks like we'll have the conversation I never predicted:
How late is it safe for me to go? Can I just keep waiting for two weeks? Is induction an option with my c-section scars or will another surgery be in the cards if she doesn't come on her own? Technically this isn't a V-BAC because Olive is in my "virgin" uncut right uterus but will my left uterus contract with the drugs? Will Olive get too cramped if we wait too long? My placenta showed signs of aging at my last ultrasound at 34 weeks, how is it now at 40?
These are just a few of my questions. That is, if she doesn't make her entrance tonight.
I'll let you know what she says.
Who would have thought, from 24 weeks to 40... plus?!?
I truly believe I wouldn't have made it to full term without the collective energy of all your hearts and souls to carry us here. Thank you doesn't say enough.
congratulations Christy, Very happy for you! Long time since we last talked but I have been keeping up and silently cheering for you, Landon as well :)

That Olive is just too warm and cozy! She is just not ready to face the cold real world. But I read your blog every morning hoping to see those words,"she is here"!
Love to you all including your mom and dad

don't thank us....you and olive did this on your own. With the blessing of 1/2 of Nick's genetic material to get her there too. Christmas really is a time for miracles. XoX.

Congratulations on the amazing milestone. Now, Miss Olive, get the heck outta there!
Sending thoughts and prayers for a healthy, uneventful birth. Well, uneventful except for the fact you'll finallly see and hold your daughter. *sigh* *sniffle*

Thoughts and prayers are with you and all involved in the birth of the long awaited and anticipated Olive! So much so that I dreamed last night that I came to Alaska to visit you before her birth! Crazy...I know!

I'm so thrilled for you, Christy! I'm coming out of hiding after following your blogs since Elias came into the world. You and Nick played soccer with my husband, Josh. We're rooting for you, Nick, Elias, and little Olive from afar now. Can't wait to hear the news!!

Wow!! Was thinking of you last night, wondering about the date. Waiting to hear. Good luck with the conversations; how fun to be in a totally new line of questioning. Have you thought of any other "natural" induction methods?
I had pitocin during my son's epic birth, and it was surprisingly not as bad as people warn, at least for me. It's all an adventure.
Waiting to hear your great story! Peace and power to you...

oh yay Christy! And Nick and Elias and Olive :) I can't wait for the "she's here!" news but meanwhile all is well and I'm thrilled you're having such a great pregnancy. I'm sure I've said this before, but I'm living my "do-over" pregnancy vicariously through you LOL. My gut feeling is that for now - all is well and there's no need for inducing or surgery just yet.
But Olive is gonna be one heck of a Christmas presently - hopefully a little bit of an early present!
