Christy,
I remember when I was a girl growing up in Palmer, Alaska, planting flowers with my mom. It must have been one of these longer days in June with weather such as we have had today. We were planting away and mom asked me to go inside and check what time it was. I came out and stood on the concrete steps leading outside just incredulous. "Mom," I yelled, "It is midnight."

That close-up of the lilacs is such a vibrant, beautiful picture!! Yesterday was awesome! Happy Solstice!

I can almost smell the lilacs- my fav flower. Your pictures make me want to pack somebags and fly up there if only to sit in yoru garden and enjoy the fresh flowers. Our lilac season came and went already. Enjoy the bright warmth

love this story Valerie, I can see the look of wonder on your young face.

My parents love to talk about the time they flew here in June late at night and our neighbor was out washing his car with a toddler in diapers long past midnight.

The light makes us all a little wild:)
