Packing gear, baking cookies, making lists, preparing for dipnetting, the local Alaskan Salmonpalooza.
It could be a typo, but Fish and Game reoprts that 200,000 Red Salmon swam past the counting sonars on the Kenai River yesterday.
That's where we're going.
To stand on the shore, shoulder to shoulder with other residents, as we hold giant nets in the water and hope that the next Red lands in ours.
We leave tomorrow for a week of camping on the beach with friends and family who will all take turns standing in the freezing cold water, often in the rain, praying to the mighty fish gods and godesses.
I plan on bringing my camera, a notebook and a pen, and will tell you all about it when I return.
Think fish.
I hope you catch loads! (But I really want to know how it goes camping with a toddler... you are brave.) :) Have fun!

I agree with Erin - you are brave! But the prospects of salmon, well, I might even camp with a toddler for those! ;)
