Oh to be Four and not Fourty-One

Yesterday was my birthday.

And when Olive walked into the house after preschool, she asked, "Mom have you been baking our cake?"

Our cake?

"The birthday girl doesn't usually bake her own cake." I answered.

But the world revolves around you when you are four, so much so that when the day came and went without chocolate cake, Olive woke up this morning and said, "But Moooom, I verrry verrrry neeeed caaaake."

Oh, don't we all.
