Olive turned six on December 18th and after cake and presents we packed up for the airport where we took a red-eye flight to Boston. Olive wore her new Santa dress, a gift from Elias, on the plane, much to the delight of our fellow travelers.
(Sorry, can't rotate pictures on this computer)
We are now on Cape Cod, with my Mom and Dad, who the kids prefer over Nick and me, which is a gift within itself.
In this picture Elias walks ahead of the rest of us with his beloved Papa:
We ate fresh oysters the night we arrived and the following day one of my oldest friends Cat came to visit.
This afternoon, Nick and I ran together on the beach and through the woods, instead of taking turns as we do at home, and as I write this short post neither child has called out for MOM.
Happy Solstice All!
Hooray for friends and family! I hope you have a great trip. I was thrilled to see this post as I take a quick break from birthday prep - my oldest turns 15 today. That, and the fact that I'm wiped out from just normal birthday celebration stuff (and parenting my 4-yr-old) tells me I'm old! :)

Enjoy your adult time! Your parents must love that they are the chosen during these trips, that's a win-win for all involved!

FAMILY TIME is what makes Christmas so special. We just drove home after spending 4 days down in Sarasota with our daughter Molly celebrating two birthdays and and early Christmas. I know your parents are in heaven!!
Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all!!! It has been a wonderful trip so far and I'm already wishing we had another few weeks instead of returning on Wednesday.
